Pluriactivity is a structural phenomenon, which has started gaining recognition as an important force in the restructuring process of rural areas, although available knowledge, observation and analysis of it is very limited. Characteristic of this is the fact that only recently has data on pluriactive farmers and family members begun to be reported in national statistics.
