Current position and future developments of agricultural information technology in the UK

Agricultural information technology in the UK is going through a period of consolidation and re-appraisal. There are some interesting new developments particularly in the use of videotex but overall the rate of adoption amongst farmers appears to be static. The major agricultural software houses are still thriving but many of the smaller firms have ceased trading and the market is dominated by a very small number of companies.
