Current situation of bovine virus diarrhoea-mucosal disease (BVD-MD) virus infections and their antigenic diversity in Hokkaido, Japan

Current situation of bovine virus diarrhoea-mucosal disease (BVD-MD) virus infections and their antigenic diversity in Hokkaido, Japan

Revue Scientifique et Technique 9(1): 181-194

The frequency of congenital abnormalities in calves associated with bovine diarrhoea virus in Hokkaido has increased in recent years, and the results of antigenic characterization of recent isolates and a serological survey among cattle suggest that strains with different antigenic properties are widespread among Hokkaido cattle. There is also a possibility that clinical manifestations differ with virus antigenicity.
