Current status of foci of tick-borne relapsing fever in the Kashkadar'insk region



Meditsinskaya Parazitologiya i Parazitarnye Bolezni (6): 47-51



A total of 35 villages (234 households) in 4 geomorphologically different districts of the Kashkadar'insk region, USSR were investigated for tick-borne relapsing fever. The vector, Ornithodoros papillipes was present in all districts (22 of 35 villages), and was particularly common in the high foothills. The number of ticks varied from 1-2 to 11-50 individuals/habitat.
