Current status, advantages and potential applications of embryo transfer in relation to animal production in Australasia



International Embryo Movement Proceedings of a symposium, Montreal, 1987: 87-96



In Australia, 15 000-20 000 embryo transfers are performed per year in cattle, more than half of them in dairy cattle. Fewer than 2000 sheep embryos are transferred per year. In New Zealand, there is virtually no embryo transfer in sheep. Between 5000 and 10 000 embryo transfers per year are made in goats in Australia, primarily with Angora donors.
