Current targets of gene transfer in dicotyledonous crop plants and experimental procedure for the optimization of the disc method of transformation by Agrobacterium

Current targets of gene transfer in dicotyledonous crop plants and experimental procedure for the optimization of the disc method of transformation by Agrobacterium

Sbornik UVTIZ, Genetika a Slechteni 25(1, Priloha): I-X

Genetic transformation by means of Agrobacterium and the resulting benefits to plant breeding are outlined. The role of the disc method of transformation, in which leaf discs or discs from the leaf axils are cultured together with the bacterial vector, and transformed cells are screened for kanamycin tolerance, is emphasized.
