Research about leisure: past, present, and future: 194-210



Beginning with a conference held in 1937 at the University of Minnesota, USA, which aimed to develop the ideal curriculum to prepare recreation leaders, the history of professional courses is traced. Although a number of studies of the attitudes and behaviour of recreation and park educators have been conducted, which show something of current patterns and issues, and perceptions of tenure, these have all been descriptive studies and not in-depth analyses.
