Curriculum design for dance - integrating creative and historical studies

Journal of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance 61(7): 27-30

Current discussions of curriculum development in the arts have become quite lively. Some advocate creating curriculum materials which are academically focused while others are seeking to keep the studio experience at the heart of the arts curriculum. The paper describes a dance composition course which can serve as a model for integrating studio experience with a discipline based mode of curriculum development.
