C. torbertae sp. nov. found in ponies in Louisiana, USA, is described and figured. It differs from other members of the genus in the oesophageal teeth situated exceptionally deeply in a long oesophageal funnel and in the position of the vulva at a distance from the anus greater than the length of the tail.
