Double insemination is better. It improves the conception rate of cows with prolonged oestrus or delayed ovulation

Tierzuchter 42(8): 346-347

For 196 741 first inseminations of cows inseminated once, the 56-day NR rate was 69.43% vs. 67.87 for 16 477 double inseminations, the corresponding CRs for 74 800 and 7746 second inseminations being 68.23 and 67.36%. When the double inseminations were carried out on the same day, the 56-day NR rate was 71.17% vs. 69.03, 67.81 and 60.39% when the interval between inseminations was 1, 2 and 3 days resp.
