In field trials in Israel, cotton Acala SJ-2 was sown in May on a loess soil, following a winter wheat crop harvested in mid-May. Plots were given a total of 460, 511 or 550 mm water as drip irrigation. A total of 384.8, 405.2 and 437.8 kg N/ha was applied to low, medium and high irrigation plots, resp.; corresponding P rates were 71.2, 76.2 and 84.4 kg. All fertilizer was applied monthly from June to Sep.
