Dynamics of potassium in submerged soils growing rice (Oryza sativa L.) 3. Changes in the forms of soil potassium; yield response and nutrition of rice as influenced by potassic fertilizer use

Seven successive rice crops were grown in pots without addition of K; to these K-depleted soils, fertilizer K was added to study yield response and nutrient uptake of rice. The cumulative uptake of K by the preceeding rice crops was assigned the value S; the rate of KCl application was 0, 0.5S, 1.0S and 1.5S. Under submerged conditions, little soil K was converted into the boiling 1N HNO3-extractable form (FK).
