In field trials on saline soils at Jobner in 1983-85, 25 t farmyard manure/ha, or gypsum or pyrite at 25 or 50% of the gypsum requirement was incorporated 5 weeks before sowing a winter season crop of wheat Raj 1114. Pennisetum americanum BJ 104 was sown in the monsoon season of each year.
