Effect of dates of sowing and row spacings on yield and its components in niger

In 1981-83, niger sown 10, 20 or 30 d after the onset of monsoon rains gave av. seed yields of 386-401 kg/ha, compared with 365 and 72-246 kg when sown with the onset of monsoon rains and 40-60 d later, resp. Crops sown in rows 20, 25 or 30 cm apart gave similar yields of 261-283 kg/ha.
