Effect of different irrigation systems on yield of tomatoes grown under plastic greenhouses

Drip irrigation systems (capillary system, twin-wall and combination emitter) were compared with the microjet system and hand watering by hose. The water was applied when soil water potential reached 0.02 MPa, providing 2 litres/plant (cv. Nortona). The highest yield was obtained with microjet irrigation. Drip-irrigated plants produced lower yields than those irrigated by microjet but the difference was not significant. The lowest yield was obtained with hand watering by hose.
