In a rainfed trial in 1987 with L. usitatissimum the application of 0, 40 and 80 kg N/ha gave seed yields of 382, 644 and 657 kg/ha and seed oil contents of 38.15, 39.32 and 38.10%, resp. The response to N was quadratic. The optimum N rate was 57.6 kg/ha with an expected yield of 678 kg/ha.
