Wheat straw was treated with 3% urea, 1% single super phosphate and 0.1% calcium oxide together with moisture adjusted to 75% and ensiled under sealed polyethylene bags for 1 month without or with inoculation with 1.3% Coprinus fimetarius and subjected to solid state fermentation for 1 month. The 2 silages were dried and given to 6 Alpine X Beetal goats.
