Effect of organic manures and fertilizers on crop yield in rice-rice cropping system

In trials in 1975-82 with a crop rotation of rice/rice, crops given no organic manure or 25 t FYM, 12.5 t Glyricidia green leaf manure (GLM) or 25 t compost/ha were given no fertilizers or 100 kg N, 60 kg P and 60 kg K/ha applied separately or in different combinations. FYM, GLM and compost gave av. paddy yields of 7.97, 8.01 and 7.96 kg/20 msuperscript 2 in (a) 7 crops and 5.58, 5.97 and 5.70 kg in (b) the other 6 crops, resp., compared with 7.05 and 4.61 kg, resp., without manures.
