In a field trial with rice grown on a saline-sodic soil, effects of 150, 300 and 600 kg pyrites/ha and/or NPK at 40+20+20, 80+40+40 and 120+60+60 kg/ha on paddy yield, nutrient contents and uptake were studied. Increasing NPK rates increased yields. Pyrites alone had no effect on yields. Pyrites in combination with NPK increased yields compared with NPK alone.
