Effect of soyabean protein content in milk substitutes on growth, feed utilization, ration digestibility, nitrogen balance and development of the digestive tract of calves

Effect of soyabean protein content in milk substitutes on growth, feed utilization, ration digestibility, nitrogen balance and development of the digestive tract of calves

Nauka u Praksi 19(3): 213-304

Black-and-White Friesian calves, average liveweight 40 kg, equal number of both sexes in groups of 10 were fed from 6 or 16 days old on a milk substitute of 60% dried skim milk (DSM), 15% whey, 6% yeast, 15% lard, 2% lecithin and 2% vitamins and minerals. In 3 groups 25, 50 or 75% of DSM was replaced by equivalent amounts of toasted soyabean protein.
