In an irrigated field trial in Himachal Pradesh during 1987, potatoes Kufri Chandramukhi were given 0 or 100 kg N/ha at planting or split between planting, emergence and 4 weeks after planting. Highest tuber yield (29.03 t/ha) was given by the application of 50% N at planting, 25% at emergence and 25% 4 weeks after emergence.
