Results of 25 field trials performed during 1981/82 to 1983/84 showed that increasing N fertilization significantly (P<0.01) increased the crop ground cover and that of Galium aparine but not of other weeds; it also increased infection by Erysiphe graminis. The greatest yield was obtained at different N levels in the 3 years studied. Triadimefon application decreased E. graminis infection, although this remained high in the last 2 years.
