Effects of tillage and sowing methods on control of wild rice Oryza rufipogon in deepwater rice

, : Effects of tillage and sowing methods on control of wild rice Oryza rufipogon in deepwater rice. Proceedings of the International Deepwater Rice Workshop: 593-598

Field trials in Thailand with deepwater rice showed that delaying tillage after rains reduced the density of wild rice (O. rufipogon), a strongly competing weed, leading to increased yields. Sowing in rows and cultivating between the rows can further increase yields.
