Effects of trace elements on growth and aflatoxin production of Aspergillus flavus

, : Effects of trace elements on growth and aflatoxin production of Aspergillus flavus. Korean Journal of Veterinary Public Health 12(1): 85-108

The effects of trace elements (zinc, copper, manganese, iron, molybdenum and boron) on growth and afltoxin production in A. flavus was studied. In Mn-depleted medium fungal growth was significantly (P<0.01) inhibited, while in Zn-depleted medium there was a significant (P<0.01) reduction in aflatoxin production compared with nondepleted medium. Cu-depleted medium supported least aflatoxin production.
