, : Effects of vitamin D supplement on cows and sheep. Norwegian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 1(2): 87-95

The response of sheep and cows to oral or intramuscular injections of vitamin D was studied. In cows, vitamin D treatment after calving increased blood phosphorus and reduced incidence of milk fever. Given to lactating cows vitamin D increased blood calcium, milk yields and weight gains.
