Efficiency of milk production in relation to body weight at calving in Jersey X Kankrej and Holstein X Kankrej F1 crossbreds

86 Jersey X Kankrej and Holstein-Friesian X Kankrej were studied. Milk production efficiency (1st-lactation milk yield per kg body weight at 1st calving) averaged 7.93+or-0.30 and 9.55+or-0.40 kg for the 2 breed types resp., daily milk production efficiency (daily milk yield per kg body weight at 1st calving) 24.50+or-0.56 and 25.55+or-0.79 g, lactation milk yield 2808.50+or-95.92 and 3869.50+or-158.19 kg, and lactation length 325.52+or-13.90 and 361.12+or-8.65 days.
