Elucidation of some in vitro exo-pectolytic enzymes by mango anthracnosis fungus Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Penz

During a survey of market diseases of mango fruits around Hyderabad, India, c. 20-30% of the fruits showed rotting symptoms. The fungus most frequently isolated was C. gloeosporioides In vitro production of exo-polygalacturonase (Exo-PG), exo-polymethylgalacturonase (Exo-PMG), exo-pectic acid lyase and exo-pectin lyase activities was assayed on 6 different media.
