Evaluation of breeding material for content of sugar and protein in the sap of sweet sorghum stems

Selektsiya i Semenovodstvo Moskva ( 4): 20-21

Fifty varieties were analysed at the stage of milk ripeness and data are tabulated on protein and sugar contents and sugar/protein ratio in 12 varieties. Yantar' Krasnyi 279 and Turkmenskoe 1 had the highest sugar content (37.4 and 36%, respectively) and Medovoe 163 the highest protein content (0.78%).
