Examination of the airways with a fibreoptic bronchoscope. Experiments in normal dogs

Examination of the airways with a fibreoptic bronchoscope. Experiments in normal dogs

Bulletin of Azabu University, Veterinary Medicine 7(2): 75-82

The airways of 25 normal dogs, anaesthetised with oxygen and fluothane, were examined and photographed. The tracheal rings and annular ligaments were visible in the trachea and bronchi. The dorsal tracheal membrane had bulges and the mucosa was clean and a light red colour with normal mucinoid excretions. A vascular network was visible. The cricoid cartilages and tracheal membrane were not distinct posterior to the tracheal bifurcation.
