Using experimental Leptospira hardjo or L. hardjo + pomona vaccines, in an infected heifer rearing unit, vaccination of animals began at the age of 3 months, and was repeated every 2-3 months. On a dairy farm all anmals were inoculated twice a year. After a year the hardjo titres of the vaccinated animals were considerably lower, and another year later they were hardly traceable.
