Example of revamping phosphoric acid plants to Nissan C-process

Example of revamping phosphoric acid plants to Nissan C-process

Proceedings, IFA 1986 Technical Conference Port el Kantaoui, Tunisia, Oct 28-30, 1986: 12

During the production of wet-process phosphoric acid raw material and energy consumption can be reduced by increasing P2O5 recovery, reducing steam requirements for product acid recovery, and using the saved steam for cogeneration of electricity. The thus produced electricity can be used for rock grinding and agitation. A hemihydrate-hydrate process is recommended to accomplish these purposes.
