Example of the method for evaluation the recreational function of productive forest by means of mathematical models

Example of the method for evaluation the recreational function of productive forest by means of mathematical models

Ekologia, CSSR 7(3): 243-257

A point method is described in which the recreational value of forest stands is assessed along frequently used recreational routes. Points are awarded according to a system representing visibility, species composition of trees and ground flora, stand structure, road quality, visible damage produced by forest management, and attractions such as a good view. The method is illustrated by a study of the Prostejov forest, Czechoslovakia.
