The placental transfer of oxytetracycline and rolitetracycline and the colostral transfer of chlortetracycline to calves were investigated by microbiological and high performance liquid chromatographic methods. Samples were taken of urine and milk. Renal excretion of oxytetracycline and rolitetracycline by calves due to placental transfer and colostral transfer lasted 11-13 days (oxytetracycline dose: 200 mg/10 kg body weight; rolitetracycline dose: 66 mg/10 kg body weight).
