Exercise intolerance in a foal with pharyngeal lymphoid hyperplasia

Exercise intolerance in a foal with pharyngeal lymphoid hyperplasia

Australian Veterinary Practitioner 20(1): 16-24

A two-month-old foal was presented because of chronic bilateral oro-nasal reflux following suckling, exercise intolerance and respiratory stridor. Clinical examination, oral endoscopy and rhinolaryngoscopy demonstrated a sub-epiglottic cyst, permanent dorsal displacement of the soft palate, severe (Grade IV) pharyngeal lymphoid hyperplasia and pneumonia.
