A study is reported, aimed at finding ways of decreasing the energy consumptions of beet sugar factories. Calculated data are shown for systems including 4- and 5-effect evaporators, and heating of limed, clarified and thin juices from 40 to 126 degrees C by means of vacuum pan vapour, condensate and vapour withdrawn from the evaporator bodies.
