Expansion due to gypsum growth

Expansion due to gypsum growth

Proceedings 6th International Conference on Expansive Soils, New Delhi, 1-4 December 1987 Volume 1: 183-187

Heave is generally considered to be related to either the presence of expansive clay minerals or to hydration following a decrease in overburden pressure. This paper presents the results of a case study on floor heave due to gypsum growth and describes the likely causes of such expansion.
