Expansion in Andalusia

Expansion in Andalusia

European Dairy Magazine ( 3): 40-46, 48

The dairy industry in S. Spain has expanded rapidly since the founding, in 1954, of Uniasa (Union Industrial y Agro-Gadadera SA), with head offices at Granada. Uniasa has built up its own milk supply and now operates 12 farms with 5800 dairy cows and 3800 heifers, and aims to increase the livestock total to 38 000. Husbandry methods used on the farms, and processing and marketing of products and technical services at the Uniasa plant, are described.
