Expected responses to ratio-based selection for maize grain yield and maturity



Maydica 33(4): 227-232



A model is described in which the expected responses of grain yield and relative maturity to mass selection (based on the ratio grain yield : percentage grain moisture) are presented for a hypothetical maize population at 2 levels of heritability for each trait and 5 levels of correlation between traits. The predicted responses were towards increased grain yield and early maturity.
