In a trial established in 1982 with apple Golden Delicious on 11 rootstocks, the tree volume and trunk circumference in autumn 1987 were greatest on B.490 from the USSR, while yield/tree during 1984-88 was highest on M.26 (56.8 kg), followed by Ottawa 3 (56.6 kg); yield/msuperscript 3 of tree volume was highest on M.20 (98.6 kg). In 1985, a trial with Golden Delicious Smoothee on 5 rootstocks was established. Yield/tree during 1986-88 was highest on M.9 (20.6 kg) and lowest on CG.44 (15.1 kg).
