Experience in the control of brucellosis in Cuba by vaccination with a reduced dose of strain 19

Before 1980, brucellosis control in Cuba had been based on a policy of testing and slaughter without vaccination. By then, the majority or herds still not brucellosis free were those operated on an extensive system plus a few on semi-intensive systems. It was decided to attempt vaccination of adult cattle with a reduced dose of Strain 19 according to Nicoletti's method.
