Experience of life in Greenland: westernization of diet

During 1 year spent near a Greenland village a trained investigator adhering to the Eskimo way of life and diet kept a detailed and exact record of foods consumed and cooking method during 1 month per trimester. Her mean seasonal intakes of energy were from 2352 to 2827 kcal daily, with protein from 87.2 to 103.1, lipid 70.2 to 86.5 and carbohydrate 336.4 to 414.3 g. She lost no body weight and showed no clear change in haematological values.
