Experience on the restoration of purity of Harmandi silver carp, Hypopthalmichthys harmandi, and its breeding in Vietnam

Experience on the restoration of purity of Harmandi silver carp, Hypopthalmichthys harmandi, and its breeding in Vietnam

Journal of Ichthyology 28(4): 27-33

Hypophthalmichthys harmandi, H. molitrix and their reciprocal hybrids were studied, and morphometric, physiological and biochemical differences between the groups are discussed. For H. harmandi, H. harmandi X H. molitrix H. molitrix X H. harmandi and H. molitrix reared for 10 months in separate breed-type groups, total weight gain averaged 566.4, 536.5, 453.0 and 428.4 g resp.; corresponding figures for fish reared in combined groups were 511, 463, 340 and 370 g.
