Experience with the young budding technique in rubber

Experience with the young budding technique in rubber

Planter 64(751): 439-451

Budding with clone PB 260 on 2-month-old PBFP seedlings, with cutting back after one month, gave only 48% survival. Delaying budding to 4 months and cutting at 2 or 3 months was more successful. Trials demonstrated the value of fertilizer treatment to enhance growth of young buddings but high fertilizer concentrations at the time of scion bud sprouting caused severe dieback.
