Experiences and results of research on passive water sleeve solar heating systems in Cyprus

Experiences and results of research on passive water sleeve solar heating systems in Cyprus

CNRE Bulletin European Cooperative Networks on Rural Energy, Italy ( 21): 16-17

A passive solar heating system was installed in multi-span greenhouses of 300 msuperscript 2 floor area. The greenhouses had metal structures and were covered with double polyethylene films or with a single thermal film and were oriented East-West. Water-filled sleeves of about 35 cm diam. were placed on a 2 cm thick polystyrene insulation overlaid with 100 mu thick black polyethylene film. The sleeves were made of transparent polyethylene film of 200 mu thickness.
