In experiments with 15 Impatiens New Guinea hybrid cultivars, the effects of the following factors on growth were studied: date of planting, light and lighting-period and growth-inhibitor (0.3% Alar 0.3% CCC or 0.2%t Atrinal all at 0.2 litre/msuperscript 2) treatment. Vigorous cultivars included Red Magic, Cotton Queen and Eclipse, and less vigorous cultivars included Pulsar, Dawn and Zenith.
