Experiences with the use of a Bacillus licheniformis plate for improved detection of sulfonamides in the biological inhibitor test

Experiences with the use of a Bacillus licheniformis plate for improved detection of sulfonamides in the biological inhibitor test

Wiener Tierarztliche Monatsschrift 76(5): 157-160

In studies on 9212 samples in 1986-1987 for the presence of antimicrobial substances, using a B. licheniformis plate in addition to the officially prescribed B. subtilis plates pH 6, pH 8 and pH 7.2 with trimethoprim, 78.7% more muscle and kidney samples (168 v. 94) and 5.5% more kidney samples (191 v. 181) were identified as positive.
