Experiment in breeding a long-styled form of tetraploid buckwheat for increased self fertility

Experiment in breeding a long-styled form of tetraploid buckwheat for increased self fertility

Genetika tsvetka i problemy sovmestimosti u grechikhi: 140-152

Variation in self fertility (SF) was seen in the progeny of a single self-fertile longistylous plant of 4x buckwheat in the course of breeding for increased SF. The expression of SF in the progeny of self-fertile plants depended on the genotype of the parents and on growing conditions. Changes were noted in the correlations between some yield traits in the course of breeding for increased SF.
