Experimental and numerical study of the transient, two-dimensional drainage

Experimental and numerical study of the transient, two-dimensional drainage

Proceedings 15th ICID European Regional Conference (4): 232-237

Sand tank data were obtained for transient two-dimensional drainage induced by the sudden lowering of downstream boundary water level. The experiment was simulated by a numerical model of transient two-dimensional saturated-unsaturated flow through porous media. Some unknown parameters of the porous medium used in the experiment were defined by the model calibration. The agreement between measured and computed values was good.
