Experimental application of hydroxyapatites and tricalcic phosphates in vertebral arthrodesis in dogs

Experimental vertebral arthrodesis in 15 dogs with hydroxyapatite interposition instead of autologous bone graft is described. Ossification was studied by light and electron microscopy. Advantages are reductions of operation time, risks of septic complications, and postoperative discomfort.
