Experimental characterization of hydraulic conductivity and water movement in the non-saturated zone of an Oxic Paleustalf in Zambia

Experimental characterization of hydraulic conductivity and water movement in the non-saturated zone of an Oxic Paleustalf in Zambia

International Agrophysics 4(1-2): 115-127

A detailed study of water movement in a bare soil (Oxic Paleustalf) in Zambia is presented. Measurements of the soil water balance were carried out using neutron probes and tensiometers during an internal drainage and subsequent evaporation process, following ponding. Gravitational flow was observed in the upper 120 cm during the internal drainage process.
